Like most software today, ours is built on a mountain of previous work, for which we are grateful. The same holds true for this website. We cannot list everything here, but if you're curious what technologies we use most directly, they are:
- Template::Toolkit — for stitching together the HTML and CSS of this site (homepage).
- It is, in turn, built on Perl, a much-maligned but still much-loved language.
- GLightbox — for slideshows, including videos (homepage, source).
- Plyr — for cross-browser video support (homepage, source).
- The Raleway font, which we like, except for "ff" sometimes :Þ (homepage).
- Vim — text editor (homepage). Take the plunge.
- Jam — build system (homepage). We hope to publish our customized version before too long.
- Inkscape — SVG editor (homepage).
- GIMP — image editor (homepage)
And the myriad and ludicrous amount of software, hardware, engineering, artistry, time, effort and pain that has gone into making all of this possible today.
And let us not forget the even more-ludicrous and more-myriad hundreds of millions of years of nonsense, beauty and horror that brought us squidging into existence, able to even contemplate such things. It boggles the mind — but we are grateful.
